Three -master Mercator<\/h2>

This impressive ship<\/a> that appeals to the imagination has been placed for everyone to see its true beauty at the Ostend marina since 1960. Step aboard this mighty ship to uncover her remarkable history. The Mercator had only two commanders and made 41 voyages. Here you can get the opportunity to discover how this iconic vessel became the symbol of Belgium and its significance.<\/p>

Ostend Ferries<\/h2>

Ostend offers a free ferry to both pedestrians and cyclists from the town centre across the port so you can see the whole of Ostend in all its true beauty. The ferry will then take you to the East Bank also known as Oosteroever, where you\u2019ll be able to explore interesting sights such as the \u2018Lange Nelle\u2019 lighthouse and Fort Napoleon. You can slowly witness many of the iconic murals and street art along your ferry trip.<\/p>

Mu. Ze<\/h2>

Mu.ze<\/a> is home to a unique collection of Belgian art which dates back as far as the 1830s. The building alone is truly a spectacular view in itself housed in an old department store from the 1940s, designed by the renowned architect Gaston Eysselinck.<\/p>

In the museum, you can browse through modern masters such as Servrackx, Jean Brusselmans, Jules Schmalzigaug, Gust De Smet, and Frits van den Berghe, to name a few. There is also some contemporary work to be found here with artists such as Luc Tuyans, Panamarenko, Jan van Imschoot, and Lili Dujourie. In the summer months, from July to November, there are exhibitions for you to also explore.<\/p>

Ensor Museum<\/h2>

James Ensor<\/a> is a famous Belgian painter who resided in our very own Ostend, according to many art critics he is considered a real pioneer of modern art during the 19th and 20th Centuries. The very house where he worked and lived until his death has been preserved in its original state, for art lovers, locals and visitors to see today.<\/p>

The building has been transformed into a completely interactive experience that introduces you to the world of Ensor himself. Each room is decorated with life-size reproductions, documentaries, and unique furniture. This a great opportunity for the art lovers visiting Ostend.<\/p>
